I was happy with the steeplechase and 1500, both run on tired legs.

1500m splits: 70 (400), 2:17 (800), 3:08 (1100), 4:14

Wednesday: 10km easy (10)

Thursday: 16km easy (16)

Sunday: AM 10km easy / PM Midland League Division 2: 2k steeplechase – 2nd in 6:32.0, 1500 – 2nd B in 4:14.0 (24)

I was pleased with Tuesday’s double. Friday’s track session was tough with short recoveries. I’m happy with my current level of fitness.

Monday: 10km easy (10)

Tuesday: AM 11km easy / PM Tipton Open: 1500 – 5th in 4:12.8, 3000 – 8th in 9:05.8 25 mins later as tempo effort – 3:04/01/00 (25)

Wednesday: AM 12km easy / PM 10km easy (22)

Thursday: 15km easy (15)

Friday: AM 12km easy / PM track session: 2-4-6-8-k-k-8-6-4-2 all off 200 jog in 50-60s: 34, 70, 1:48, 2:28, 3:05, 3:03, 2:27, 1:47, 71, 33 (27)

Saturday: rest (0)

Sunday: AM 16km progression run 32:04/29:13, 10 min jog / PM 8km easy (26)

A tiring but enjoyable day of track racing. Not a bad start to the season.

Monday: hurdle drills, 2×400 with hurdles,  15km easy (16)

Tuesday: AM 12km easy / PM grass session: 2 sets of 2km, 1km off 2:30/1:30 (28)

Wednesday: 16km moderate (16)

Thursday: AM 13km easy / PM 13km easy (26)

Friday: rest (0)

Saturday: AM 8km easy / PM Midland League Division 2, Yate – 2kSC 2nd in 6:28, 1500 3rd in 4:15.2, 400 relay leg 4th (24)

Sunday: 12km easy (12)

Training – Week Beginning 2 June

Three races on Saturday including a very painful 400 relay leg. I didn’t even get inside 60 seconds! My hurdling is improving in the steeplechase. I was pleased with the way I closed the 1500 on tired legs.

Tuesday: AM 10km easy / PM Metchley session – 3 laps increasing pace each lap, 4×400 off 60s, 3 laps increasing pace (27)

Wednesday: 16km easy (16)

Thursday: AM 10km easy / PM 14km easy (24)

Saturday: Midlands T+F League Division 1 – 3k SC (2pm) 1st in 10:05.6, 1500 (3:25pm) 4th B in 4:14.7 400 relay leg (5pm) in 62.1 (17)

A disappointing race but a good session on Saturday. I’m taking most of next week off for the ride.
